Instead of writing, I was browsing the Internet this lovely Labor Day weekend and I came across something called a Psychopathy Checklist. Morbidly curious, I checked the long-time behaviors of my own dear, dear “Mommy Dearest” (AKA my Psycho Stalker) and discovered she rated over 40, which beats psycho Paul Bernardo hands-down.
Psychopathy Checklist-Revised: Factors, Facets, and Items:
Facet 1: Interpersonal
- Glibness/superficial charm
- Grandiose sense of self-worth
- Pathological lying
Sadly, she gets a “yes” on each of these so 12 out of 12 here.
Facet 2: Affective
- Lack of remorse or guilt
- Emotionally shallow
- Callous/lack of empathy
- Failure to accept responsibility for own actions
Sadly, she also gets a “yes” on each of these so 12 out of 12 here.
Facet 3: Lifestyle
- Need for stimulation/proneness to boredom
- Parasitic lifestyle
- Lack of realistic, long-term goals
I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt and not “check” the boredom thing as well as the impulsivity (because she can play a long game of manipulation), but it’s a “yes” on the rest so 9 out of 15 here.
Facet 4: Antisocial
- Poor behavioral controls
- Early behavioral problems
- Juvenile delinquency
- Revocation of conditional release
- Criminal versatility
- Many short-term … relationships
- Promiscuous sexual behavior
I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt and not “check” the “revocation of the conditional release” and the juvenile delinquency thing ( I suspect she simply wasn’t caught dealing drugs yet…that came later, as did jail time), but it’s a “yes” on the rest so 15 out of 21 here.
And folks wonder why I’m so messed up…
Maybe I should be writing horror?
